The Fighting Camels first appeared in the NCAA tournament in 1992. Team Campbell is popularly known as Fighting Camels. They represented Campbell University in North Carolina before appearing in NCAA Division-I they competed at School levels. After struggling for so many seasons the fighting Camels finally started their victory in the 2009-10 season. Whatever team fighting the camel is considered the newcomer in the NCAA tournament. The fighting camels have appeared in one NCAA tournament and this season will be their second journey. It was a bitter experience for camel fighters who lost in their first appearance in the Division-I men’s basketball tournament. They lost the match with a record of 56-82 against National champion Duke. Like the NCAA tournament result, they also beat in the National invitation tournament where the result was 0-1. They played in the NIT tournament in 2019 with UNC Greensboro. The only impressive result of this team was in the college insider postseason tournament where they compiled a record of 2-1. They won over Houston Baptist in the first round and the second round, they won over UT Martin. but in the quarter-final, they lost against Furmen. likely the CIT result they also made the same result in the college basketball invitation. Their CBI record is 2-1, here, they reached the semi-final. In the first round they defeated Miami with a record of 97-87 and in the quarter final they carried their victory with an overall record of 71-69. It was a tough tight match for them. but unfortunately, they lost in the semi-final to San Francisco. Their NIA tournament result is considerably better than the other tournament results. Here they got victory in four matches but in the national championship game, they were defeated by Texas Southern. Now the team fighting Camels goes under the coach Kevin McGeehan. he is the 12th coach of fighting Camels. The Campbell fighting camels showed themselves by wearing the black and orange color Jersey.
Navy Midshipmen
The Navy Midshipmen men’s basketball team represents the United States Naval Academy in NCAA Division-I college Basketball. The Navy Midshipmen basketball team started their season in 1907. Navy was retroactively recognized as the pre-NCAA tournament for the 1912-13 and 1918-19 seasons. At that time they coached the Premo-Porretta Power Poll. The Midshipmen men’s basketball team has appeared 11 times in the NCAA tournament. Now they are coached by Ed Dechellis and this is the 14th season for the Navy. Their home ground is Alumni Hall. They used the Midshipmen as their nickname. In 11 appearances in the NCAA tournament, their overall record is 8-11. It was a pretty good start for the Navy in 1947 as they reached the quarter-final in their first attempt. but they lost the match against Holy Cross with a record of 47-55. After a 5 year interval, they again appeared in NCAA Division I in 1953. but they were rejected from the first round. 1954 was a significant season for Navy Midshipmen. The Navy reached the Elite 8 that season. Some days after 1960 they qualified for the regional quarter final and beat West Virginia. They again reached the elite 8 and again were defeated by Duke. They last appeared in the men’s college Basketball tournament in 1988 where they were selected for the first round. The Midshipmen have appeared in only a single National invitation tournament where their record is 0-1. Team Navy won the conference tournament Champions title three times in 1985, 1986, and 1987. They also became conference regular season champions three times and they won the same title in 2021.
