UTRGV Men’s College Basketball team deputized the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley who started their first NCAA appearance in 1952. In 1964 Rio Grande Valley became runners-up with Jackson State Trinity. The Grand Vaqueros have appeared in only a single National invitation tournament as the Pan American Broncos and they lost the match with the TUISA Basketball team by the result 71-81. The recent performance of Rio Grande Valley at the college basketball invitation all Trophy was impressive. They won the title with New Orleans with a 74-77 result. In the early history of UT Rio Grande Valley, they coached under LA Youngman, and then after they coached under Sam Williams the most successful coach of UT Rio Grande Valley.
Initial History of Nebraska
Nebraska a 127 years old team started their basketball journey in 1897. They first started their match under the coach Troy Dannen. Team Nebraska first won their conference tournament championship in 1994 and they became the conference regular season champion in 1912, 1913, 1914, 1916, 1949, and 1950. The Cornhuskers have appeared in the NCAA tournament but they failed to win any tournament trophy. The only “National Invitation Tournament” that they have won was in 1996.

He helped to lead BYU to 23 wins this past season. Fennell’s playing career started at Thousand Oaks High School where he earned all-League Honors and served as team captain. Fennell helped guide the Falcons to conference regular season and tournament Championship 2016-2017. Fennell also helped UTPB lead the nation in rebounding while ranking in scoring. Fennell is famous for playing aggressive games, probably to create pressure on opponents to counterattack. Kahil Utters- I and my staff will work tirelessly to make this community and University proud as a strike together bringing a Championship to the Vaqueros Valley. On the other hand, Nebraska has been coached by Fred Hoiberg since 2019. Hoiberg is an ex-college basketball player from Iowa State. He is also a deputy for Annes School. Hoiberg played as a shooting guard. He was selected 52nd overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 1995 NBA Draft. In 1999 he signed for the Chicago Bulls, letter on his joint for the Timber Wolves where he received greater acclaim as a three-point specialist. Under his coaching, Nebraska was in third position in the college basketball Championship. Hoiberg is renowned for his defensive statistics. on defensive play rather than attack. So he goes on with the defensive approach in Vaqueros’ team.
